Job Responsibilities

Perform development activities to produce production-quality software. This position is responsible for analysis, design, applications development and implementation of systems. Provide technical support to sales staff to ensure that products meet the focus of sales efforts. Work with product management and meet with clients to identify project requirements, and develop project plans and schedules, as well as write, test and implement software according to the specifications. Function as internal source for technical product information for company’s QA, Support and Professional Services teams. Create technical documentation and collateral and provide technical feedback to Marketing. Focus efforts on delivering quality software on time and cultivating long-term successful development practices. Entails working with Product Development, Marketing and clients to establish applications and systems requirements; creating design specifications using current techniques and tools; establishing timelines for project milestones; adhering to industry standard applications development techniques and practices, as well as industry standard testing practices; providing the appropriate documentation both in program code and externally; conducting surveys to identify prospect/customer key business requirements, plans, functions and processes; providing technical information to QA, Support and Professional Services teams; building samples and benchmarks using actual or derived customer information such as scenario and scripted demos; and performing code and technical specification reviews.

Job Requirements

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or a closely related field, plus two years of work experience as a Sr. Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Java Engineer, Senior Principal Consultant, Architect/Staff Engineer, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Project Leader, Member of Tech Staff, or equivalent occupation. Bachelor's degree in one of the stated fields and five years of progressive work experience will substitute for Master's degree and two years’ experience. The work experience must include two years of software design/development utilizing Java and XML and one year of software design/development utilizing J2EE, multithreading and thread pool optimization, Hibernate, OpenJPA, Bitronix and Mysql. Experience over backend system configuration, thread debugging and monitoring is a must. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
