Document ManagerIntalio|DMS is a next-generation Document Management System supporting the management of digital assets throughout their entire life cycle, within the context of any business objects or business processes managed by Intalio|Cloud. Modular OSGi ArchitectureIntalio|DMS is built with a very modular architecture designed on top of the standard OSGi framework (Learn More). This architecture enables the development of new components and services independently from each other. Intalio|DMS leverages the Equinox OSGi container (Learn More) developed by The Eclipse Foundation, and the Intalio|Jetty application server.
Core Components and ServicesCore components are responsible for managing the overall life cycle of documents, while core services provide user access to them, through a set of user interfaces. The Intalio Document Life Cycle can be customized or extended by adding new core components. Similarly, new core services can be developed in order to provide additional features for end users. Out of the box, Intalio|DMS provides user interfaces for desktop or laptop computers (using AJAX), as well as for Apple's iPhone and iPad. Custom user interfaces can also be developed in order to support additional devices. Puggable Content RepositoryDocument files and metadata are stored in a pluggable Java Content Repository (JCR — Learn More). By default, Intalio|DMS uses Apache JackRabbit (Learn More), but additional JCR implementations can be used as well, such as Oracle Beehive. For scalability purposes, document metadata is stored in a relational database, while document files are stored on the filesystem.
