Elastic Storage

Intalio|Elastic Storage provides an elastically scalable and fault-tolerant storage infrastructure for private cloud deployment. It scales up to multiple Petabytes, and is 100% fault-tolerant, while supporting a broader range of Quality of Service requirements.

Elastically Scalable

Intalio|Elastic Storage provides a perfectly elastic storage infrastructure for both blocks (for databases) and files (for documents). Block storage is used for multi-terabyte databases, while file storage is used for multi-petabyte document management systems. Intalio|Elastic Storage is built on top of a software-based SAN deployed on top of VMware and can use both Hard Disk Drives and Solid State Drives. Also, unlike Amazon S3 (Learn More), Intalio|Elastic Storage can store files larger than 5GB.

Fault Tolerant

Intalio|Elastic Storage offers multiple levels of fault tolerance. First, all data is replicated across multiple hosts, removing all possible single points of failure. Second, when using the Intalio|Cloud Appliance, all data is stored across multiple storage devices (HDD or SSD) configured in RAID 10 mode (Learn More). Third, database data can be stored on Solid State Drives, and automatically backed up on Hard Disk Drives.

Compatible with Amazon S3

Intalio|Elastic Storage will provide an API fully compatible with Amazon S3. As a result, a hybrid storage cloud could be configured to store some data on the Intalio|Elastic Storage system and some data on Amazon S3, following user-defined policies regarding file sizes, pricing, or Quality of Service requirements. Furthermore, Amazon S3 could be used as backup or disaster recovery infrastructure for all data managed by Intalio|Elastic Cloud.
