How to Deploy 100,000 Processes
January 30, 2007 | Ismael Ghalimi
One of our customers is planning to deploy up to 100,000 processes on Intalio|Server. Yes, you’re reading correctly, 100,000 processes. Not 100,000 processes instances—that’s easy, we already did it for 250,000,000—but 100,000 separate process definitions. Problem is, most BPM systems out there, including ours, have to load all process models when the server is started, which can take quite a bit of time when you have 1,000, 10,000, or 100,000 processes to load. In order to solve this problem, we’re working with our customer to implement lazy loading of process models, allowing the server to load only the processes that are required at any given point in time, making everything a whole lot faster. We expect this feature to become available in our GA product sometime in Q2 this year.

Very impressive. I am very curious to know the reason for this number of templates. May I guess? Is it a template (maybe originally the same one) per client to have future flexibility?
Thanks

Alexander,
Yes, your guess is right.
It’s also due to the fact that the system is used by very many customers.
More on this very soon…
Best regards
-Ismael
