Sybase, one of the major contributors to Apache ODE, recently agreed to move Intalio PXE into the trunk of the ODE project. This is a major step towards getting the ODE codebase out of the incubator, and becoming a first-class Apache project. This also means that a larger community of developers will contribute to the development of the Intalio-sponsored Apache ODE BPEL engine, which is used as the foundation for Intalio|Server. Congratulations to the Intalio|Server team for this great achievement!

To me as a developer who is thinking about matching best of the breed solutions (PXE for BPEL, Axis for Web services), things are getting simpler and I only have to worry about things that I am good at solving. I really ought to thank PXE for this insightful initiative. And Alex Boisvert’s succinct email about what’s happening with ODE, which gave me clarity of thoughts. I deeply appreciate the effort undertaken by the PXE team.

As someone in the blog said, this will help the community in a great way.
