Intalio|On Demand is a managed version of Intalio|Server powered by Amazon EC2.

Intalio|On Demand servers are powerful enough to run hundreds of thousands of process instances concurrently. Each server has the equivalent of 1.7 GB of memory, 160 GB of storage, and CPU capacity equivalent to a 32-bit 1.0-1.2 GHz 2007 Opteron or 2007 Xeon processor.

The underlying operating system is rPath Linux, following the Just enough Operating System (JeOS) principle. “This makes the appliance more efficient, smaller, more secure and higher performing than an application running under a full general purpose OS (Source: Wikipedia, JeOS)”.

The Intalio|On Demand software appliance contains a bare minimal Java 1.5 virtual machine and fine-tuned version of Intalio|Server. When subscribing to Intalio|On Demand, you gain access to the Entreprise Edition of Intalio|Server, with a variety of connectors (JDBC, LDAP, Salesforce.com, etc.).

Default Configuration

By default, only ports 22 (SSH), 80 (HTTP), and 8080 (Intalio|Server) are open, even though these parameters can be changed by system administrators directly. The server runs on a secure, minimalistic Linux operating system packaged as a software appliance using rPath Linux. Because Intalio|On Demand uses the bare minimum of software, exposure to exploits from non-critical running software is significantly reduced. Additionally, Amazon Web Services (AWS) runs a secured protection layer over the cluster, for extra security.

VPN Support

You can configure your server to connect to your organization’s Virtual Private Network, for enhanced security, and exclude access to the server from outside the organization. To do so, you must open port 1723 (VPN), and follow instructions provided by your IT department.

The following pricing includes hardware, bandwidth, software licenses, and technical support:

  • Intalio|Server: $1,500 per month per dedicated server (Intalio|AJAX and Intalio|Portal included)
  • Intalio|BAM: $1,000 per month
  • Intalio|BRE: $1,500 per month
  • Intalio|ECM: $1,500 per month
