Installation

This page shows the basic steps to install and launch Intalio|BPMS Designer.

The Intalio|BPMS Designer Windows distribution is provided as a single executable file with an .exe extension.

Note to Eclipse users: this distribution contains a set of plugins bundled with the full Eclipse 3.4.2 SDK distribution. There is no need to install Eclipse separately.

Prerequisites

Intalio|BPMS Designer has the following requirements:

• Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000
• Java 1.5 or Java 1.6 must be installed prior to running the Intalio|BPMS Designer installer.
• Disk space: 300 MB of disk space
• Memory: 1 GB RAM

Installing Intalio|BPMS Designer

To install Intalio|Designer Community Edition (CE), locate the installer executable file and double-click it. This will launch the installer. If not, make sure JAVA is properly installed on your computer. Also, some users have experienced problems when attempting to launch the executable from a directory that has white space or special characters in its path. If you experience problems, try copying the installer executable to C:\ and launch it from there.

Then follow the instructions on each page of the installer.

1. In a browser navigate to Intalio Downloads.
2. Click Intalio|BPMS Designer 6.0.3 for Windows.
3. Read the license agreement and then click the check box at the bottom to accept the agreement.
4. Click Download to begin downloading. Save the installer executable to your disk.
5. Double-click the installer executable to begin the installation. Click Run on the pop-up window.
6. Select your desired language from the menu on the Intalio|Designer Language Selection window. Click OK.
7. Click Next on the Setup window.
8. Read the license, then click I Agree on the License Agreement window.
9. On the Choose Install Location window, click Install to accept the default Destination Folder. Or Browse to select another folder and then click Install.The installation will begin and the files will be extracted to the directory you chose.
10. On the Completing window, click Finish to complete the installation. By default Run|Intalio Designer 6.0.3.x is selected. This will cause Designer to automatically open when the installation completes. Show Readme is also automatically selected and the readme file will open upon completion of the installation. You may deselect them prior to clicking Finish

Intalio|BPMS Designer is installed. It will automatically launch, unless you selected otherwise on the last window. Follow the screen prompts to open Designer.

Launching Intalio|Designer CE

After the initial installation, to launch Intalio|BPMS Designer navigate to the installation location and double-click on the designer.exe application.
